Why the Right Network Mode (2G or 4G/5G) Helps You Earn More

When you rent out phone numbers, the most important thing is that your device receives SMS without interruptions. If messages stop arriving, your earnings drop — it’s that simple. One of the reasons this happens is the wrong network mode.

What’s Going On?

Many mobile operators have already shut down 3G or are in the process of doing so. If your phone stays locked on 3G, messages may stop coming at all.
As a result:

  • SMS delivery becomes unstable
  • The number can get deactivated
  • You lose income

What to Do (and How to Change Network Settings on Android)

Your device’s network mode directly affects SMS delivery. Here’s what you should set and how to change it.

Recommended network modes

  • Older or budget devices: choose 2G only — it usually provides the most stable SMS reception.
  • Modern smartphones: choose 4G/3G/2G (auto) — the phone will switch networks automatically and keep a stable connection.

How to change these settings on Android

  1. Open Settings → Mobile network.
  2. Select the SIM card you are using.
  3. Tap Preferred network type and choose:
    • 2G only (for older devices), or
    • 4G/3G/2G (auto) (for newer devices).
  4. If 2G doesn’t appear:
    • Turn off Automatic network selection.
    • Manually select a carrier that supports 2G.
  5. Restart your phone to apply the new settings.

A Few Things to Keep in Mind

  • In many regions 3G is already disabled, but some phones still try to connect to it. Switching to 2G or 4G usually fixes delivery issues.
  • If you replace your SIM card, network settings may reset — check them again afterward.

Your Income Depends on Stable SMS Reception

Make sure your device uses the right network mode so you don’t lose messages — or money — because of a simple setting.
