Welcome to the Sharing SMS Glossary — a straightforward guide to the essential terminology used on our platform, whether you are new to SIM rental or already experienced.

All terms

Anonymity

Your personal information is never shared. Sharing SMS does not require SIM registration information or KYC, and it protects your identity.

APK File

The Android Package Kit file format used to distribute and install apps on Android devices. Installing the APK gives you the Sharing SMS app.

App Permissions

The Android permissions the Sharing SMS app needs to work properly: access to SMS, background activity and network status.

Auto Start

A setting on the phone that makes sure the Sharing SMS app launches automatically upon device restart. Essential for continuous SIM operation.

Background Mode

A setting that allows the Sharing SMS app to run silently in the background while the phone is in use or locked. Disabling battery optimization is recommended for stable operation.

Cell Signal Strength

The strength of the signal that is received by a SIM card. A stronger signal increases SMS reception reliability and uptime.

Connectivity Check

An automated process the platform uses to regularly verify if the SIM card is reachable via both internet and network connection.

Country Rate

The daily revenue rate per SIM, which depends on the country in which the SIM card is registered.

Crypto Wallet

A digital wallet that is used to store cryptocurrencies like USDT and USDC. Required for receiving payments from Sharing SMS.

Device ID

A unique identifier of the phone on which the Sharing SMS app is installed. Your SIM cards are bound to the Device ID of the phone they were added on, so after switching phones the numbers must be migrated to the new device.

Dual-SIM Phone

A smartphone that allows the use of two SIM cards at once, which makes it simpler to handle several revenue-generating numbers on a single device.

Encryption

How the Sharing SMS platform protects your security and privacy: data between the app and the servers is transmitted in encrypted form.

Inactivity Penalty

If your SIM remains offline or disconnected for over 6 hours in a single day, you won’t receive payment for that day.

Incidents

A section of your Personal Account with the daily history of every SIM card: status changes, downtime and penalties. Check it if you did not receive a reward for a particular day.

Internet Connection

A reliable internet connection, whether through Wi-Fi or mobile data, is necessary to maintain the Sharing SMS app’s online status and facilitate real-time SMS forwarding.

Mobile Operator

A telecommunications service provider that offers SIM cards and network connectivity solutions. Various operators provide distinct coverage and compatibility levels for SMS reception.

Network Availability

Your SIM card’s capacity to maintain a connection to a mobile network. Receiving SMS and getting paid every day depend on a network that is always available.

Network Mode

The mobile network type selected on your phone, for example “2G only” or “4G/3G/2G (auto)”. Sharing SMS requires modes that allow reliable SMS reception. See our guide to network settings.

Number Stability Assessment

A 10-day test period during which the platform checks whether your SIM card maintains stable internet and network connectivity. Once it is passed, the number enters the rental pool and starts earning after it has been rented. This step cannot be skipped.

Partner

An individual or organization that connects SIM cards to the Sharing SMS platform in exchange for income from renting them out.

Personal Account

Your personal online account on the Sharing SMS website, where you see your daily and monthly earnings, manage SIM cards and payout details, and check incidents. Its Dashboard section gives the overview.

Reconnection

The process of reactivating a SIM card that temporarily lost connection. The system resumes earnings once stable uptime is restored.

Referral Program

A program that pays you 10% of the monthly earnings of every active partner you have invited. The Referrals section with your personal link appears in your Personal Account after a stability period. How to access the referral program.

Rental Model

Sharing SMS rents out your number for a set amount of time (at least one month), which results in more steady revenue and less SIM burnout than standard SMS monetization systems that pay per message. This model is more profitable for both sides.

SIM Card

A SIM (Subscriber Identity Module) card is a compact chip that is inserted into a mobile device to facilitate connection to a mobile network. To work with Sharing SMS, the SIM card must be active and able to receive SMS.

SIM Statuses

The current state of each of your numbers as shown in the Personal Account and in the app. Active — the number is rented out and earning. Inactive — the number is not rented out. Ready — the number is online and can receive SMS. Not Ready — the number is offline or cannot receive SMS. Replace — the SIM card has worn out and needs to be replaced. New — the number has never been used for registrations. Used — the number has already been used for registrations and is rented out more slowly.

SMS Forwarding

The method of securely transmitting incoming SMS messages from the SIM card to our platform, followed by delivery to verified clients requiring phone number verification.

Terms and Conditions

The agreement between the Company and the Partner that governs how the Sharing SMS platform is used: the rights and obligations of both sides, payouts, penalties and termination. Read the Terms and Conditions.

Uptime

The amount of time your SIM card is online, active, and able to receive SMS. Uptime directly affects your monthly earnings.

USDT / USDC

Stablecoins — cryptocurrencies pegged to the U.S. dollar — that Sharing SMS uses to pay partners. They make payouts fast, secure and free of banking restrictions.
